The details
This wall-mounted all-in-one model is a great performer for year-round use as it works as a powerful air conditioner in the summer and a cost-effective heater in the winter. It functions as a dehumidifier too, which is great for keeping damp and moisture at bay. This air conditioner boasts an impressive BTU rating that's ideal for cooling spaces up to 30 sqm, without taking up vital floor space. The heater only requires a small amount of power to operate, which makes it an incredibly efficient way of heating your room, compared to electrical or central heating.
At only 20cm deep, it’s the same depth as many split indoor units on the market but with the added benefit of not requiring a separate bulky outdoor unit. Instead, it only requires two ventilation holes, making it ideal for conservatories, high-rise buildings or anywhere outdoor installation space is difficult to access. The R290 refrigerant gas is an energy-efficient refrigerant, an eco-friendly alternative with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP). R290 does also not require installation by an F-Gas certified engineer. Best of all, you can take control of all the functions from anywhere, at any time, using your smartphone. Simply connect the air conditioner to WiFi, download the app on your smartphone and away you go. Here are just a few things of what you can do:
Access anywhere - Switch on your air conditioner whilst at work, so that it's nicely chilled for when you arrive back home.
Control multiple devices - Take control of multiple air conditioners using a single app, ideal for commercial use in holiday homes or offices.
Easy to share - Give your family, guests or co-workers access to the device and its settings via simple QR code sharing.
Advanced scheduling - Set the air conditioner to automatically run at different temperatures at different times of the day. Scheduling saves you money as air conditioning will only operate when it is needed.
Alexa and Google Assistant compatible - Control the air conditioner using only your voice - "Alexa/OK Google, set the living room temperature to 22°C."

Question from Doug Rogers: Asked on 17/07/2025 What is scop for this unit when used for heating
Hi, please get in touch with our customer services team at 03300412271, and they will look into this for you. Thanks!
Question from Russ.: Asked on 14/07/2025 Hi.
Is this unit suitable for a static caravan? 38ft x 12ft.
Is the 10000btu model strong enough to compete with internal temperatures of between 30-40 degrees?
Is there a minimum wall depth requirement, when fitting the plastic sheet and trims to the 182mm holes?
The electriQ iQool 10,000?BTU wall-mounted smart air conditioner (no outdoor unit) is designed for spaces up to 30?m² (~320?ft²) and is just 20?cm deep, requiring only two 180–182?mm through-wall vents for installation
Your static caravan (38?×?12?ft ≈?42?m²) exceeds its intended coverage area. In long spells of 30–40?°C internal temperatures, the 10,000?BTU model will help reduce heat but likely won’t cool your entire caravan to comfortable levels. A 12,000–15,000?BTU unit is better suited for that space and temperature range .
Bottom line:
Installable in your caravan—but 10,000?BTU is underpowered for the full 42?m² under extreme heat.
? Upgrade to 12–15?k?BTU for effective cooling.
? Ensure wall thickness ≥?182?mm and maintain 10?cm/20?cm/50?cm clearances during installation.
Thanks!
Question from Roy jones: Asked on 13/07/2025 Can the unit be plugged in to a wall socket
HI, Yes this unit can be plugged into a wall socket and is supplied with a UK plug and a 2 meter mains lead. Thanks!
Hello. Yes, this unit can be plugged into a wall socket.
Question from James: Asked on 13/07/2025 Does it have a mode where it only swaps air from inside to outside so replacing the inside air for outside air
Hi, this item does not include a mode to pull outside air into the room—you can’t replace indoor air with fresh outdoor air using the unit. Thanks!
Question from Alan: Asked on 13/07/2025 Would this unit be more efficient and effective (lower running costs) on a north facing solid brick wall or south facing solid brick wall for both cooling in the summer and heating in the winter?
Installing the electriQ iQool 10000 BTU Wall Mounted Smart Air Conditioner with Heat Pump on a north-facing solid brick wall will generally provide better efficiency and lower running costs for both cooling in summer and heating in winter compared to a south-facing wall. This is because a north-facing wall receives less direct sunlight, keeping the unit and the wall cooler during hot months, which reduces the cooling load and improves energy efficiency. In winter, while south-facing walls get more sunlight, the heat pump’s performance is more influenced by indoor insulation and conditions. The solid brick wall helps regulate indoor temperatures by absorbing and slowly releasing heat, supporting effective heating and cooling. Overall, a north-facing solid brick wall is the preferable choice for optimal efficiency year-round.
Question from Jacob: Asked on 09/05/2023 How loud is this ??
Hi,
Thanks for getting in touch
This is extremely quiet for an all-in-one Air Con - about 58dB
Hope this helps,
Sam
Question from George: Asked on 20/07/2021 The manual mentions a self-evaporating function which I presume is for the water drain but there is still a drain pipe required. How do you enable the self-evaporating function and is the drain pipe only needed for the dehumidification function and not cooling?
Hi George
When the unit self-evaporates any humidity in the air and expels it out of the rear vents. It will do this provided the humidity level is not too high, then it will condense the humidity and it will flow through the drain hose.
There is no way of switching the self-evaporating function on or off, it just happens when the conditions are right.
Best regards,
Michael
Question from Tony: Asked on 20/07/2021 Hi does this come with the drainage pipe and fittings if not what fittings are needed?
Hi Tony
All pipes are included with the SMART12HP.
Regards,
Michael
Question from Chris: Asked on 19/07/2021 Hi, does this unit create negative pressure in the room (like portable air con) or does it simply circulate and cool the air in the room (like a split unit) ?
Hi Chris! This unit does not work like portable AC but like a split unit but without an outdoor unit. I hope it helps! Thank you!
Question from Garry: Asked on 19/07/2021 How noisy is the unit?
Hi Garry! This unit has a noise level of 58dba, so I would that this noise would be between a refrigerator and an electric toothbrush. I hope it helps! Thanks!
Question from Doug: Asked on 19/07/2021 How does this unit compare in cooling capability with a similar sized split unit.
What size holes need to be formed in the external wall.
What is the db level in full cooling mode.
Hi Doug! By comparing this product to other units I can say that it is worth its price as the quality is high. Most importantly, you can mount it without any outdoor unit, for me, it's a huge advantage. I'm not sure about the hole size, but you should use a 180 or 182mm core drill to drill the two holes. And the noise level can reach 58 db. I hope it helps, thanks!
Question from Tom: Asked on 19/07/2021 What is the minimum outside temperature for this to operate in heat mode?
Can this act as an electric heater if the outside temperature is too low to operate?
Hi Tom! The minimum temperature you want it to work can be set up through the mobile app. Everything is explained in the manual handbook available for you to download at the product's page under 'What's in the box. Don't worry about the outside temperature, as it will adjust the home temperature to your individual needs. I hope it helps, thanks!
Hi Tom
There is a mimimum temperature for inside the building, which is 7°C. Below this the heater will not function. In this case we recommend a fan heater to get started.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Michael
Question from Robert Greenall: Asked on 19/07/2021 Hi, do you need to re gas this unit at anytime like a year down the line or does this never need regassing ??? Is this a proper air conditioning unit ? Thanks
Hi Robert
Well, yes it is a proper air conditioning unit. It contains the R290 refrigerant gas with a compressor and everything to create cold air (and exhaust hot air). Because it has no outdoor unit there is much less installation required and therefore less chance of refrigerant leakage. Like a portable aircon unit it should run for many years without requiring the refrigerant to be topped up.
Best regards,
Michael
Question from Fahad shah: Asked on 18/07/2021 Hi is this going to be good for a loft conversion as the room temperature is higher in lofts
Hi Fahad
Yes, I think this would be ideal for a loft conversion. Just make sure you have a wall it can expel the air to, not a cavity.
Kind regards,
Michael
Question from Ian Dodds: Asked on 09/07/2021 Can you give the measurement of the hole centres I want to replace a Olypia splendid
Hi Ian
The exhaust holes are 180mm each in diameter. Th distance between their centres is 350mm.
I have attached a copy of the walll mounting template which is supplied with the unit. This is printed on A3 paper.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Michael

Question from Ray: Asked on 29/07/2020 I have a dwarf wall of 60cm high with a shelf. can this unit be installed on that wall as it is 58.5 high.
Thank you for your question!
You need to leave at least 10 cm of space to the left, right and base of the
machine. At least 20cm of space must be left above the unit to help
air flow smoothly. I hope this helps.
Thank you,
Liam
