Hi, For hoods that are ducted to the outside, carbon filters are not required because the cooking fumes are expelled outdoors. Carbon filters are only needed for recirculating hoods, which clean and return air to the kitchen. Grease filters are always required, as they protect the hood and ducting from grease build-up.

Hi, For best performance, replace the electriQ Carbon Filter (EIQCFA20061) every 3 to 6 months, depending on use. Frequent use or poor air quality may require more frequent replacement. Monitor the appliance for any decrease in performance or lingering odors.
